Hong Kong: the Manhattan of the Far East

If you have never been to Hong Kong before but you want to experience, in a limited time with ease and comfort, all you heard about it, jump on a plane: destination Hong Kong!

This richest region of China is a fast-moving and ever-changing metropolis with abundant vitality and diversity.

Technicolor night skies with the world's largest permanent light; a very active nightlife with very friendly atmosphere and without any ostentatious display.

All in all, Hong Kong can be visited once to feel the vibrant fusion of Eastern and Western cultures.

PROGRAM

Day 1 : Arrival and check-in
Upon arrival at Hong Kong International Airport, meet the private driver for a 45 minute drive to your hotel. Check-in and get ready for the fabulous adventure of the next days.

Day 2 : Sightseeing
Breakfast. Meet guide in lobby and take hair-raising ride up sharp turns and curves to Stanley Market on board the Double Decker public bus where you can enjoy the best view. Walk through market for an hour and then take some time for some shopping. Ride back down to Aberdeen and see the fishermen at work. Ride back to Peak Tram Station - Central and take one of the world's steepest tram rides to The Peak. It is now time to shoot some photos of spectacular view of Hong Kong skyline, Kowloon and the Harbour. We suggest to have lunch at Café Deco - international food - on The Peak.

Take tram back down. Walk to famous HSBC Bldg and other buildings to get an idea of Central and how to get around, so on your free day, you can return for shopping and nightlife.

Admire the Lan Kwai Fong, SoHo, IFC, Armani Building, Pedder Building while your guide will tell you more about it. Return to hotel for a rest.

Enjoy a dinner at one of the Hotels' restaurants.

Day 3 : Discovering the Local Culture
Breakfast. Meet your guide in lobby and explore Lantau Island. When there, a cable car will bring you to Po Lin Monastery, better known as the Big Buddha, home to the world's largest Buddha. After taking some photos and having walked around, take the opportunity to enjoy a vegetarian lunch. Return by cable car back down the mountain. It's a good chance to see life of Hong Kong outside of the city as you ride over small villages, trekking trails and view of Hong Kong's Chek Lap Kok Aiport, which is situated on a man made island.

As soon as you have returned to HK Island, get on board the Star Ferry back to TST, Kowloon side, where you can admire the Harbour and may have the chance of seeing the traditional Hong Kong boat called 'Junk boat'. Stop at the Peninsula Hotel, to enjoy a "High Tea" on the Hotel terrace. Before leaving TST, walk around the area to shops, tailors, etc.

Remember that every Mondays, Wednesday and Fridays at 8:00 PM you can view the 'Symphony of Lights' (those days the speech is in English, all other days in Cantonese or Mandarin): this is a show where Hong Kong's famous skyline is lit up with music and narration.

Back to the Hotel. Dinner of your choice.

Day 4 : Enjoying the local Spa's
Breakfast.
Relax on a full day Spa treatment to be arranged based on the specific requirements. Enjoy the vitality pool or soak in our Kneipp pool, in which a combination of massage pebbles and water stimulate the feet and lower legs, then drift through their experience showers which calm and refresh the body or cleanse your breathing in the Chinese herbal steam room: you are now ready to indulge a top-to-toe treat with this all-encompassing face and body program, designed to provide immediate, visible results and extreme relaxation.

For dinner, try the famous Peking Duck, at the Cantonese restaurant within Admiralty Place Mall: it is not a high end place but very typical and comfortable.

Day 5 : Shopping Galore
Have half a day at Leisure and then meet your guide in the afternoon, for a trip to the Ladies' Market in Mong Kok for shopping and sightseeing. This is the area where the young local Hong Kong people go to buy electronics, eat and walk around. Ladies' Market is a haven for tourists selling everything from souvenirs to copy handbags. Can shop for cellular phone, computers, cameras, etc.

In the early evening, venture to The Night Market on Temple Street and view more shopping stalls, the Jade Market, and the fortune tellers selling fortunes on the sidewalk as well as local vendors selling local food from outdoor stalls.

Return to Hotel..

Day 6 : Total freedom
You have a full day of freedom to go around and stop to some place you have had the chance to discover during the last days for some last minute deal. Before leaving Hong Kong, explore a restaurant like no other: the Krug room in the Mandarin Oriental: Chef Uwe Opocensky will share with you his passion for creativity while remaining related to ingredients and flavors, guiding you through a fascinating tasting menus partnered with Krug champagne in a hidden dining room.

Day 7 : Check-out and Departure
Breakfast. Transfer to the Airport.


HOTEL ACCOMMODATION

The Mandarin Oriental Hotel - 5*

Built in 1963 and remodeled in 2006, the hotel is located in Central, walking distance to the IFC -  International Finance Centre, Hong Kong's tallest building and also close to malls with high end stores such as Lane Crawford. In the area you can also find Harvey Nichols, Armani Building, The Peak Tram and HSBC Building that make HK's skyline one of the most fascinating in the world.  Star Ferry' station is right across the street if you want to catch a ferry to Kowloon side; MTR (Hong Kong's underground system) is just around the corner.

The Hotel has an in-house Spa and one designed specifically for men, that have been awarded as "Winning Mandarin Spa". If you like fine dining, it is home to Michelin-starred Pierre's restaurant.
